Celebrating 30 Years of Success at F12.net

F12.net dates back to before the concept of “managed services” even existed.  

In 1994, our CEO, Alex Webb, launched a new technology venture in his basement. In 1996, this became System Systems Inc. 

From 1997, with a rebrand to SSI Solutions and the launch of a self-hosted platform in 1998, Alex continuously sought to provide value and service to SMBs dealing with a rapidly changing technological landscape. 

In 2001, Alex took an innovative leap: What if the company provided businesses with hardware, software and support, all for one set monthly fee? That year, SSI Solutions launched hardware as a service (known as Service Plus), which was later expanded to Service Plus 2 in 2007. 

SSI Solution’s acquisition of CPU Technologies in 2006 kickstarted a series of footprint expansions across the Canadian technology landscape, expanding service across the country. 

In 2011, SSI Solutions rebranded to F12.net. For businesses across Canada, this meant, “Tap the F12 key, and our technology partner is just a click away.” 

In 2026, through massive company growth, we have never lost focus on what truly matters: excellent IT service, every time.  With F12.net’s country-wide footprint, 500 dedicated networkers, and emphasis on personal service, we’ve become one Canada’s largest managed IT services provider.
